11 www. fermanaghomagh .com These four stories are just a snapshot of how volunteers and local community groups responded to meet local needs during lockdown earlier this year. Thank you to all those volunteers and community groups who contributed to the local response. While it remains unclear how COVID-19 will impact on our lives over the winter, what the last fewmonths have shown is that we are 'Stronger Together'. ‘We Care’ message for young people The FIND Centre in Enniskillen works with young people aged 11-25. During lockdown, centre staff connected with young people using online platforms like Facebook, Zoom, Instagram and Twitter however as time went on, lockdown began to take its toll. With funding support from the Council, FIND Centre staff prepared ‘We Care’ bags for young people who visit the Centre. The bags contained food, toiletries, mindfulness and school items such as USB sticks. The bags were also tailormade – for example for the junior AutismGroup – so WKDW WKH\ LQFOXGHG LWHPV VLJQLĆFDQW IRU WKHP A handwritten card with a personal message from staff members was included in each bag, with bags hand delivered to young people. Campsie community spirit carries through Campsie Residents’ Association carried out a range of activity during lockdown to support their neighbours and provide a sense of connectedness. The Association distributed food packs within their local community with funding from the Council. They also organised a Community Tea Party with local musicians bringing music to the area and where people enjoyed music, tea and cake from their doors. The community also came to their doors each Thursday night to clap and show support for the NHS.
