14 in-FO in Fermanagh & Omagh | Winter 2020 District Electoral Areas Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is made up of seven District Electoral Areas (DEAs). In this issue of in-FO we will be highlighting the attractions found in Omagh DEA. Omagh DEA is made up of six electoral wards – Camowen, Coolnagard, Dergmoney, Gortrush, Killyclogher and Strule. Interesting Facts Omagh DEA is home to both the award-winning Strule Arts Centre and the OASIS Plaza. The Three Spires are often associated with Omagh, comprising the twin spires of the Sacred Heart Church together with the spire of St Columba’s Church of Ireland. The imposing facade of Omagh Court House dominates the top of the town while the town centre was also once home to the Royal Arms Hotel whose ballroom hosted a range of international stars such as Tom Jones, Roy Orbison and Englebert Humperdinck. 7KH RIĆFHV RI WKH DUHDèV WZR ZHHNO\ QHZVSDSHUV WKH Tyrone Constitution and the Ulster Herald, which have been in circulation for 175 years and 120 years respectively, are in Omagh. The site for the Strule Education Campus also lies within the Omagh DEA.
