Identification of enhancement and upgrade work to existing play parks to be retained; and Identification of potential new play parks, type and location. Alignment with current legislation and best practices, with cognisance of accessibility and inclusivity; Current play park management plans (including maintenance plans); Consultation with communities and other stakeholders; Existing information such as Position Paper Eleven – Open Space, Recreation and Leisure (Paper I) 21 October 2015, condition and Health & Safety surveys, current equipment provision; Consideration of usage and potential transformation of play assets to meet demographic needs; and Assessment of current maintenance requirements for the next four years forming the baseline information for the review. (ii) An economic appraisal prepared in accordance with the Northern Ireland Guide to Expenditure Appraisal and Evaluation. Identifying the options in respect of play park provision, considering existing maintenance, upgrades and new play park provision. This included specific recommendations and a delivery plan of the recommendations based on budget availability. In undertaking this process the following was considered and taken into account: 19 National Play Strategy; Play Areas in Residential Developments NI (NI Assembly); Play and Leisure Policy Statement for Northern Ireland (OFMDFMNI); Planning Policy Statement 8 (Open Space, Sport and Outdoor Recreation); Children and Young People’s Strategy 2017 – 2027; and Disability Discrimination Act etc. Strategic documents considered within the review included: Review of the current provision of play parks in the district – type and location; The specific outputs required from this assignment were: (i) A feasibility study into the provision of play parks in the district comprising
