30 Outcome 1 – We have access to opportunities to support active, healthy lifestyles Outcome 2 – We develop and invest in a network of leaders, coaches and volunteers Theme 1: Active People Outcome 3 – We benefit from our unique natural and built environment with access to a range of quality accessible facilities and services. Provide a range of activities within accessible, inclusive and sustainable Council facilities; Maximise the use of community facilities to provide locally accessible and inclusive activities; and Develop and deliver a sustainable action plan for play spaces across the district. Outcome 4 – We work in partnership with agencies and communities to make best use of our limited resources. Theme 2: Active Places Actions proposed to deliver against this objective include: Theme 3: Active Partners Local Development Plan 2030: Draft Plan Strategy (Fermanagh and Omagh District Council October 2018) The Draft Plan Strategy for Fermanagh and Omagh Local Development Plan sets out how the area will change and grow over the period up to 2030. This Local Development Plan takes account of the Fermanagh and Omagh Community Plan. Included within the vision of the Draft Plan Strategy is an aspiration for the provision of sufficient open space and indoor and outdoor recreational facilities. A corresponding strategic objective is identified in Strategic Objective 5 which aims to “Facilitate the development of new social, community and recreational services at locations accessible to existing communities and new housing developments through a variety of modes of transport”. This objective is supplemented by Strategic Objective 6 which aims to “Provide for environments that are safe, healthy and connected and which enhance opportunities for shared space for all”.
