50 As Director of Community Health and Leisure, in Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to this book. The stories show how communities have pulled together in the most challenging of times and how new relationships have been built. I am all too aware that there is an abundance of others who have given their time selflessly during this unprecedented period to help those most in need. We publish these stories, of those who replied to our ‘Share Your Story’ initiative, as examples of the exceptional individual, community and voluntary effort which provided much needed support to the most vulnerable in our society. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council would like to acknowledge all groups and individuals, although not highlighted in this publication, for their charitable work in our community not just during the pandemic but throughout the year.
