What Your Council Can Do For You Council A Residents’ Survey carried out earlier this year found that a high proportion of respondents were unclear as to the services for which the Council is responsible. As a result we have developed The ‘What Your Council can do for You’ campaign which will guide residents through the range of Council services and provide contact details for organisations responsible for other services such as roads, street lighting, sewage and housing. This campaign has been developed to provide residents with a useful reference point for Council services and to address any confusion that may arise as to what services the Council does and does not have responsibility for delivering. ‘What Your Council Can Do For You’ leaflets are available at Council facilities across the district. For further information on the A-Z directory, please visit the Council website at: www.fermanaghomagh.com/services/az-services/ and to keep up-to-date on social media follow us on Facebook and Twitter @fermanaghomagh i £5.2 million has been made available by the Department for Communities and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council to improve and develop Enniskillen’s public realm to include footpaths, street lighting, landscaping and street furniture. Public and Statutory consultation, together with significant direction and input from the Project Steering Group, comprising six Enniskillen (DEA) Councillors and six representatives of the local business community, has allowed the appointed Project Managers - Doran Consulting, to finalise the design and submit the Planning application. Planning application submitted for Enniskillen Town Improvement Scheme The Council wishes to acknowledge the contribution from the public, the Project Steering group and the relevant statutory bodies in pre- application discussions and consultations. Upgrade works by Utility Providers to commence in the new year Before the Enniskillen Public Realm works begin, several utility providers, including Northern Ireland Electricity, SGN Gas to the West and Northern Ireland Water have committed to upgrade their networks. These upgrade works are expected to commence early 2019 and further details will be published when the work programmes are known. It is important to emphasise that while these works are not part of the public realm scheme, they are necessary to future-proof the streetscape in advance of the public realm scheme being completed. Please be aware that following the utility providers carrying out their works, the footpaths and road verges will be “made good” with a temporary finish – this finish is only in the interim until the public realm scheme commences to replace the footpath with high quality paving and to resurface the road in its entirety.
