Buttermarket, Enniskillen New paving to improve accessibility Urban Garden, Omagh Transforming a grey space into a green social space Our town centres are vital to our local economy and our social and cultural life. Over the past year we have worked with partner organisations to help to revitalise our town centres and recover from the impacts of Covid-19. These capital projects were made possible with funding from the Department for Communities, the Department for Infrastructure and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. Administering over £442,000 of recovery funding to businesses We are also progressing the Mid South West Regional Economic Strategy with partners. This Strategy sets out investment priorities and interventions to boost productivity and drive inclusive sustainable growth for the region over the next 10-15 years. Key support over the past year has included: Business support, training and mentoring programmes Improving town centre experience with public art, additional planting and cleansing Events to encourage people to visit and support town centres Marketing campaign to showcase Enniskillen and Omagh as a place to love, live, work and invest in Physical improvements to our town centres to support them as economic, social, accessible and sustainable places The Council’s Economic Development team continues to support local businesses through a range of free mentoring support programmes and regular topical and engaging webinars. requirements. Support covers a wide range of topics including marketing and social media; writing winning tenders; understanding customs; tariffs and taxation; exploring new customer markets or getting started if you have a new business idea.
