This latest survey follows on from the first Residents’ Survey carried out by the Council in 2018. The outcome of the most recent survey shows that we are progressing in the right direction, delivering the highest quality services at the best possible value for money to the satisfaction of most residents. However, the findings also showed a high proportion of residents are unclear as to the services Council is responsible for, For example, 80% mistakenly believed that the Council is responsible for roads maintenance when this is the responsibility of the Department for Infrastructure. We will continue to work to highlight which services are delivered by other agencies and have included a useful guide on page 2 of this edition of in-FO. The overall findings of this survey will be used to help us identify and target services to support the wellbeing of residents and the district as a whole. They will also help to inform what we do and how we do it. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in the survey and focus groups. Things that make you proud of your district: ❙ Community spirit (looking after each other) ❙ Scenery including mountains, lakes and farmland ❙ Outdoor spaces clean, tidy and well maintained ❙ The people
