2022-2032 Vistitor Experience Development Plan
A series of engagement activities took place between September and December 2021 with statutory bodies, neighbouring councils, businesses, operators and community representatives to find out what the biggest challenges and opportunities were for improving the visitor experience in Fermanagh and Omagh. 16 government bodies or public sector organisations 50 businesses engaged 20 community and voluntary sector organisations involved 77 people attended workshops and 1to1s “I think cohesion throughout the area is lacking. In other places, things are sold as packages. I think if everything was more open, people would explore further into the area.” Survey respondent “There’s an opportunity to look at tourism providers who are currently hobbyists and provide a supportive environment for them to take the leap into developing a professional enterprise.” Workshop participant “There’s a lot of great work being done by communities who are developing tourism in their local towns and villages without even realising it’s tourism!
