16 Age Friendly Strategy and Action Plan Governance and Implementation The AFA will work in conjunction with the Community Planning Partnership to progress delivery of the Age Friendly action plan, the plan being the primary delivery mechanism for Outcome 2: Older people lead more independent, engaged and socially connected lives. Reporting on progress of the Age Friendly action plan will be on a six monthly basis to the Fermanagh and Omagh Community Planning Strategic Partnership Board and Council’s Regeneration and Community Committee. In developing the Age Friendly strategy and action plan the importance of ensuring clear roles, responsibilities and communication channels was fully recognised. In particular, the AFA is keen to ensure maximum efficiency of available resources, avoiding duplication and achieving added value wherever possible. It is recognised that partner organisations have their own strategic priorities and operate within an environment of growing need and limited resources. Leadership will be provided through the Fermanagh and Omagh Age Friendly Alliance which will oversee implementation and performance of the action plan, reporting to the Community Planning Strategic Partnership Board on the progress of Outcome 2 in the Community Plan: “Older people lead more independent, engaged and socially connected lives” The implementation structure for the Age Friendly strategy and action plan is illustrated below and membership of the key structures is attached as Appendix 5.
