22 Age Friendly Strategy and Action Plan AIM ACTION - How will it be Addressed? Increasing access through locally based delivery Co-ordinate an annual Age Friendly activity programme for delivery in local communities Promotion of grant aid and opportunities to help community groups provide activities for older people as part of a District wide Positive Ageing approach Work in partnership with FODC Access and Inclusion officer supporting shops and businesses to be Age Friendly through JAM card training and supporting older people who wish to continue working Improving access to public and community transport Work with Translink and Community Transport to support older people access to services and activities Representation on regional Age Friendly NI Network Transport sub-group THEME: PARTICIPATION AND ACCESS Providing accessible activities and programmes is key to enabling older people participate in community life and feel connected. THEME: TACKLING ISOLATION An Age Friendly community enables people of all backgrounds to actively participate and treats everyone with respect, regardless of age and supports actions to build respect and promote opportunities for inclusion by older people. Building inclusion by older people at group and individual level Capacity building to sustain the sector, including SWAP Cluster meetings and focus groups Work with the Policing and Community Safety Partnership on safety programmes tailored for older people Promote volunteer recruitment and recognise volunteers Develop and deliver a Scam wise information presentation, tailored for older people which can be delivered by PSNI Neighbourhood Policing teams and crime prevention officer Ensuring information is accessible to all Providing literature in printed form as well as digital
