5 Fermanagh and Omagh District Council The strategy and accompanying action plan are the responsibility of the local Age Friendly Alliance, a cross sectoral group, chaired by the Chief Executive of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. Alliance members currently include representatives from the Public Health Agency, the Western Health and Social Care Trust, the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the Department for Infrastructure. Translink, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and the local Age Sector Network – South West Age Partnership (SWAP). The Age Friendly Alliance members are committed to working together over the next three years to achieve the vision and actions set out in this strategy in order to establish an Age Friendly District. It seeks to do this through four key themes impacting on older people: Infrastructure Participation and Access Tackling Isolation Health and Wellbeing The actions set out under these themes are intended to enhance the lives of older people, creating a vibrant, inclusive and caring community. Key to the success of the strategy will be the active involvement of our older people as well as key stakeholders including the Age Friendly Alliance, South West Age Partnership, and partners across the public, community and voluntary sectors.
