Construction of new Leisure & Wellness Centre underway! Construction has officially begun on the new Leisure and Wellness Centre in Enniskillen, marking a major milestone in the £70 million redevelopment of the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum. Supported by £20 million from the UK Local Regeneration Fund, the project will deliver a cutting-edge leisure, health and wellbeing centre designed to promote active lifestyles, inclusivity and climate action through its pioneering Passivhaus design. The new facility will feature swimming pools, a gym and fitness suite, community spaces, soft play area, sensory room, café, and extensive outdoor amenities including a destination playpark, pump track, 3G pitch, cycling and walking trails and an active waterfront area. With demolition and site preparations now complete, construction is underway. The project is already making a positive impact locally, with over 30 businesses attending a recent ‘Meet the Buyer’ event to explore opportunities for involvement. Students from across the District have also taken part in construction industry career insight sessions, with further opportunities available including work experience. Construction is being delivered by GRAHAM, with completion expected in 2028. In the meantime, a comprehensive programme of alternative services is in place to ensure continued access to leisure and recreational activities.
