Investing in Our Future: Supporting Young People in Our District Young people are the future of our District, and we are committed to helping them thrive. We focus on health, wellbeing, and social connections through a wide range of activities and programmes that inspire, engage, and support. Each year, hundreds of children and young people take part in initiatives such as: • Summer Community Activities - 939 children aged 5-11 enjoyed a packed programme of fun events. • Countryside Recreation - 202 children explored the outdoors through nature-based activities. • Marble Arch Caves Young Rangers - 22 young people learned new skills while caring for the environment. Our Community Centres are alive with everything from Hip Hop Classes to Scouts, while Leisure Centres offer a full calendar of sports, fitness, and recreation. Families can also enjoy the District’s stunning landscapes and trails. Residents voted Bessy Bell in Omagh their favourite walk for its views and peaceful charm. We’ve invested in joyful spaces for families, upgrading 33 playparks to create safe, inclusive places for children to play and grow.
