Folk Tales of Fermanagh 139 About the Authors & Illustrator Séamas Mac Annaidh is a bi-lingual writer and storyteller who lives in Belcoo, Co Fermanagh. He has been writer-in-residence for Queen’s University, University of Ulster and NUI Galway. He has published six novels in Irish and a best-selling A History of Ireland in English. Active in local history circles in Fermanagh he keeps up a busy schedule of lectures, storytelling, writing and editing. He has been researching and recording Fermanagh folklore and oral history for many years. Carlo Gébler lives outside Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh. His most recent publications (all from New Island) are The Projectionist, the Story of Ernest Gébler , a biography of his father, The Wing Orderly’s Tales, and Aesop’s Fables: The Cruelty of the Gods (a collaboration with the artist Gavin Weston). He teaches at Trinity College and the American College Dublin, and until April ran The Saturday Club for young male and female prisoners in Hydebank College (formerly Hydebank Young Offenders’ Centre). He is a member of Aosdána. His play, The Hydebank Testimonials (based on the personal testimonies of prisoners), will be performed in Hydebank later in the year. James Killian is an artist fromBoher, CoWestmeath. He graduated from Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology with a First-class honours in Art in 2019. His illustrations are created using the traditional medium of woodcut printing. This is James’ first commission.
